A talented but down-on-his-luck pianist struggles with depression and bad habits as he tries to keep his relationship, and his sanity, intact

Nancy Burton, niece of the sheriff, is in love with Deputy Tom Farrell, but she as an aversion to bloodshed. She overhears that he shot and killed an outlaw three years in the past. He swears to her that it never happened but she does not believe him. Later her uncle tells he that it was he who killed the outlaw, Trevis, in the line of duty. She also learns that the brother of Trevis, seeking revenge, is on his way to kill Farrell.

When his friend Sean can't muster the courage to break up with his highschool sweetheart, Damien steps in and does the deed for him. Together, Sean and Damien come up with the idea for a new business - Don't Shoot The Messenger, a company that will break up with your girlfriend for you. At first it seems like a great idea, and business is booming. However, some complications that they didn't expect begin to arise.

Jacob, a klutzy sign language interpreter, fumbles through life in NYC hopelessly lost in translation. Although he's fluent in two languages, both his personal and professional lives are riddled with ridiculous misunderstandings. He constantly finds himself in awkward situations he can't make sense of with eclectic Deaf and hearing New Yorkers.

One of the mountain passes of Tajikistan, which is an important strategic object, is controlled by the Basmati detachment of Kurbashi Kerim Dodho, who is respected by the people. The head of the OGPU Paramonov, in order to avoid bloodshed, convinces Kurbashi of the expediency of holding peace talks. However, the counterrevolutionary group, which has its own people in the militia units, is trying to interfere with the negotiations between Paramonov and Dodho, a Bolshevik sympathizer.
